15 Minute Wonton Soup

Sometimes you need a really quick meal. As much as I love making homemade wontons, it’s not always realistic. This easy wonton soup is so delicious and can be on your table in 15 minutes!

  • 32 oz chicken broth
  • 2 garlic cloves, smashed
  • 1 in piece of ginger, peeled & sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Mirin (sweet cooking wine)
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • 1 scallion, chopped (some set aside for garnish)
  • Frozen wontons of your choice(I got the chicken & cilantro wontons from Trader Joes)


  • Place all the ingredients EXCEPT for the wontons in a medium pot over high heat.
  • Bring up to a boil and reduce to a simmer for 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  • Remove the garlic and ginger.
  • Add the wontons and cook according to package instructions.
  • To serve, ladle to soup into bowls and garnish with reserved scallions.
