Sandwich these delicious beef patties between the bun of your choice and top with cheese, lettuce tomato and your favorite sauce!Making burgers is quite simple as long as you follow a few important steps. - Be sure to use 80% lean ground beef or chuck. You need enough fat for flavor, but not too much that the burgers are greasy. Season well and don’t overmix!   • 1 lb 80% lean ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp ground mustard seed


  • Preheat your grill to medium heat.
  • In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix with your hands just until combined.
  • Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal pieces and roll into balls. Flatten with your hands so they are about ½ inch thick and then using a spoon, press into the middle of the patty to form a depression.
  • Cook until burgers are cooked to your preferred doneness:
    ° For rare burgers, cook for 4 minutes total
    ° For medium-rare burgers, cook for 5 minutes total
    ° For medium burgers, cook for 6 to 7 minutes total
    ° For well-done burgers, cook for 8 to 9 minutes total
