This recipe for Garlicky Parmesan Swiss Chard is a simple side dish that you can whip up in a matter of minutes for a healthy side. All you need is a few key ingredients to make great tasting sautéed greens; good olive oil, salt, lots of garlic, some crushed red pepper flakes and salty parmesan cheese!

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 bunches Swiss chard, stems finely chopped + leaves roughly chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Pinch crushed red pepper
  • ½ cup shaved parmesan cheese


  • Heat a large cast iron or oven safe pan over medium heat. Add the olive oil and Swiss chard stems and sauté for 2 minutes, then add the garlic and leaves and sauté until wilted, about 3 minutes.
  • Season with salt (about ¼ tsp) and crushed red pepper.
  • Remove from skillet and sprinkle generously with shaved parmesan cheese.
  • Serve immediately.
