Anytime Orange & Sugar Glazed Sweet Rolls

anytime orange and sugar glazed rolls
These buttery gooey orange rolls are irresistible and can be served anytime! I like to serve them with dinner as a sweet treat, but they are delicious with a cup of coffee or as dessert. They are also a great addition to a holiday dinner. The sugary orange glaze coats these rolls and makes them super addictive. My daughter will devour these and has given them the nickname "candy bread."

  • For the Rolls:
  • 1 cup warm water should feel like bath water
  • 1 ½ tsp yeast
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar firmly packed
  • 3 ½ cups bread flour
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • For the Topping:
  • 10 tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup grated orange peel
  • ½ cup sugar

  • In the bowl of a standing mixer, place the warm water, yeast and brown sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it is frothy.
  • Add the bread flour and melted butter and begin to mix with a dough hook until it begins to combine. Add the salt and mix on medium speed until the dough comes together and is smooth (about 10 minutes)
  • Lightly oil a clean bowl, add the dough and cover with a towel. Let the dough rise in a warm area for about an hour, or until doubled in size.
  • After the dough has doubled in size, divide the dough in half and roll it into two, twelve-inch ropes. Cut each rope into six even pieces.
  • Mix together the topping ingredients in a bowl. Dip each roll into the topping and coat very well.
  • Place in a greased pan, spacing each roll about ½ inch apart. Let rise again for about 30 minutes or until doubles in size.
  • Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes until golden.
